Topics such as measures of quality of papers and journal, open access, the use of artificial intelligence and how to ensure equality diversity and inclusion will be discussed from the editor. As an author, the types of papers that can be submitted and tips to be successful in getting manuscripts accepted will be discussed. The impact of publishing on clinical practice, on the practicing professional and also from professional bodies perspective will be presented.

Overview: This session will explore key advancements and practical insights in brachytherapy in gynaecological cancers and will be divided into three parts. The first will cover the clinical needs and evolution of brachytherapy applicators, treatment planning optimisation, challenging clinical scenarios, and advanced intracavitary-interstitial techniques. The second will address the commissioning of brachytherapy applicators, highlighting its importance. It will also outline the different steps involved in commissioning and provide practical examples. The final part of this section will focus on dosimetry audits, outlining the importance of audits to ensure safety in clinical practice and describing current and upcoming international audit projects in brachytherapy.
