Invited speakers:

Motivation:

Spatially Fractionated Radiation Therapy (SFRT) is an emerging treatment technique delivering non-uniform dose distributions in the target. With growing interest and expanding clinical application, there is a critical need to define best practices for implementation.

This workshop aims to bring together experts to discuss the current landscape of SFRT, review physical and clinical experiences, and identify steps toward consistent, safe, and effective integration of SFRT into routine clinical workflows, developing standards and recommendations.

Planned outcomes:

  • Drafting of white papers and consensus guidelines
  • Recommendations for treatment planning and QA protocols
  • Identification of key parameters for reporting and documentation
  • Roadmap for clinical trials and prospective data collection
  • Frameworks for standardization across SFRT modalities

Workshop Topics:

  • Overview of SFRT techniques (Grid, Lattice, Particle, Microbeam)
  • Physics and dosimetric considerations
  • Treatment planning and workflow integration
  • Clinical implementation and commissioning strategies
  • Quality assurance and patient safety
  • Biological rationale and clinical evidence
  • Consensus-building and standardization needs
