New era of personalised radiotherapy in soft tissue sarcomas
André Abrunhosa-Branquinho, Portugal;
Dorota Gabrys, Poland
Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) local control and survival is dependent on the extent of surgical removal, but recurrence rates are still significant in high-grade STS even with the implementation of (neo)adjuvant treatments. The current symposium focuses on advances in personalized radiotherapy for STS, such as preoperative hypofractionationated radiotherapy and spatially fractionated GRID radiotherapy (SFGRT), due to particular clinical features for this disease. It will also address radiotherapy enhancers for synergistic therapies: chemotherapy and target therapy drugs, hyperthermia and radioenhancer nanoparticles. Furthermore, the incidence of radiation-associated soft tissue sarcomas will be discussed, as well as treatment strategies.
