MRO.34: MODERN ONCOLOGY BEYOND SURVIVAL

20-21-22 OCTOBER 2024

Modern oncology goes beyond mere survival and focuses on improving the quality of life of cancer patients.

The development of innovative drugs, such as targeted therapies and immunotherapies, plays a key role in more effective disease management.

In addition, advances in surgical techniques, such as minimally invasive procedures, reduce recovery time and improve overall well-being.

Radiation therapy, along with advances in radiology that plays a key role in defining the target and the organs at risk, has evolved with precision technologies, reducing damage to surrounding tissues, enabling ablative doses, and changing the paradigm from a purely local treatment to its broader application in systemic diseases.

Supportive care, including psychological and physical support, contributes to a global approach, recognizing the importance of total well-being in the care of the cancer patient.

“Beyond Survival” means emphasizing personalized treatments, addressing the unique characteristics of cancer and of each patient, not losing sight of sustainability.
