Closing the gap: Strategies for reducing inequalities in radiation oncology
Francesca Itta, Italy;
Gregory Hampson, United Kingdom
This is a 1 hour session on how some inequalities within the radiotherapy world can be reduced and explores strategies on how this gap can be closed. Throughout the session, the speakers will draw on their own personal/department’s experiences on how they have implemented changes such as inclusive pregnancy status checking and how IRMER/Society of Radiographer guidance has changed, how to ensure inclusivity in trials and using data to address inequalities in cancer care. All of which is a valuable takeaway for all who attends this session to further enhance and improve their departments equality and diversity in radiotherapy.
