Postoperative radiotherapy of squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity is still challenging and the level of evidence-based medicine in the field is sparce.
This symposium will cover some of the burning questions like the significance of R1 margins and what levels to include both on the ipsi- and the contralateral side. Doses will also be discussed.
Brachytherapy is a well-recognised modality in oral cavity cancer. Indications and techniques will be covered as well as the current evidence for using SBRT. The two modalities will be compared.
Finally, concomitant treatment: when is it indicated and how as well as doses and types of drugs will be reviewed.
