Overview: Every day we are collecting data which can help us understand how to better treat our patients. However, it is not always straightforward to put all this data together and extract meaningful information. This session will look at different examples of research where big data is needed and focus on the issues which arise with collating, combining, curating and analysing large quantities of data with different examples from retrospective, prospective, reconstructed, public, national and international datasets. Tips and tricks to avoid pitfalls will be given.
