Abstract Text
Patient comfort plays an important role in effective position holding and compliance with treatment plans in Radiation Therapy. During Radiation Therapy, patients must remain still in sometimes unnatural and uncomfortable body positions. Literature review has demonstrated that discomfort and anxiety can reduce position-holds and disrupt treatments. Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize patient comfort during radiation therapy to ensure that they have the best possible experience without compromising on treatment accuracy.
This talk will discuss the importance of prioritizing patient comfort in radiation therapy and strategies that can be implemented to help reduce anxiety, minimize discomfort and improve overall patient experience during radiation therapy.
