The ESTRO Scientific Council would like to bring to your attention the following call launched by the European Partnership for Radiation Protection Research (PIANOFORTE).

The second PIANOFORTE call is opening on the 24 March 2024 and closing in July 2024. The topics for the calls are:

1. Developing a knowledge base for a better understanding of desease pathogenesis of ionizing radiation induced cancer to improve assessment.
2. Implementation of new and optimized radiotherapy approaches for better targeting to protect health tissues better against detrimental effects of ionzing radiation.
3. Ensure readiness and scientific knowledge to support environmental impact assessment and emergency preparedness and response for novel nuclear technologies.
4. Development of technologies and methods to go beyond effective doses in case of internal exposure following a radiological or nuclear emergency.
