Hybrid workshop - online: May/June 2021; on site: 22-23 October 2021, Budapest, Hungary.
The physics ‘Science in Development’ workshop series that is organised by the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) started in 2017. The aim was to facilitate scientific and professional networking opportunities for the physics membership. It also offers an excellent opportunity to create close interactions with equipment developers who work in companies. This all happens in a small and informal environment, where there is time for in-depth discussions and to meet others with common interests from both the same and other workshops. These workshops act as the beginning of a process, as plans are made for ongoing activity with many tangible outcomes. In the past, these have included review papers, grant applications, guidance documents, surveys and many more. This is a great chance to get involved in ESTRO physics activity and to contribute in a meaningful way to the community.
We are now nearing the fourth session. The 2021 workshop will be divided into two parts: the first part will take place online in May/June 2021 (please see the website for the exact dates: https://www.estro.org/Workshops/2020-Physics-Workshop-Science-in-Development and look in the programme tab); and the second part will be held live from 22 to 23 October 2021 in Budapest, Hungary. If possible, participants would benefit most from attending both parts of the workshop. You need simply to submit a letter of motivation by 30 April, in which you explain to the chair of the workshop why this topic is of interest to you, and then you must register once you receive an invitation to join.
