24-25 May 2025; Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology in Warsaw, Poland
Endorsed by ESTRO
The Student Oncology Forum (SOF) is proud to announce its fourth edition, which will take place on 24-25 May 2025 at the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology (MSCNRIO) in Warsaw, Poland. SOF 2025 is an ESTRO-endorsed event and a unique chance for young medical professionals and students with a passion for oncology to get together in Poland.
The SOF is a student-led, year-round initiative that is supported by physicians and researchers from the MSCNRIO. SOF’s main objective is to promote oncology as a future career path as it recognises the critical shortage of oncology specialists in Poland and elsewhere in Europe. It is more than just a conference – it is an inspired movement to dispel the outdated notion of oncology as a field with limited potential. As an international platform for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and inspiration among students, young doctors and accomplished specialists, SOF continues to prove that oncology is a dynamic field brimming with opportunities. It provides a stimulating environment for learning, mentorships and collaborations as well as professional development. The SOF aims to connect students with international opportunities, fellowships and cutting-edge research that will directly impact patient care through clinical trials and a deeper understanding of cancer biology.
SOF 2025 offers a comprehensive programme of interactive workshops and lectures by leading experts from Poland and around the world. Key topics include innovative approaches to cancer treatment, the role of social media in cancer awareness, personalised medicine, and the impact of climate change on oncology. Student presentations are an integral part of the conference. The best works are chosen to be presented in the prestigious Grand Prix session, the winner of which receives a bursary to attend the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress. This year's programme will include sessions under the patronage of leading Polish oncological societies.
The SOF also runs the OnkoYear project, which includes monthly thematic events, practical workshops, webinars, and patient meetings.
