Every year, the radiotherapy committee of the Association Française du Personnel Paramédical d’Électroradiologie (AFPPE, the French Association of Electroradiologist Paramedics) organises a national conference for radiation therapists (RTTs). This event, which will gather around 150 professionals, is a key opportunity to share knowledge, best practices, and the latest advancements in radiation oncology. The programme will include presentations, panel discussions and interactive exchanges to foster professional development.

The committee selects invited speakers and RTTs who submit abstracts to share their experiences. Some topics are also presented through posters.

Key Themes and Innovations

In recent years, many presentations have focused on advanced practice in radiation therapy, particularly in line with the cooperation protocols, which constitute a French tool that defines tasks delegated between radiation oncologists and RTTs.

Research is also gaining momentum, and several talks at previous events have showcased the increasing involvement of RTTs in research. To support this involvement, AFPPE offers an annual research grant, and some awardees have already presented their funded projects.

This conference is also a great opportunity to connect with industry partners, which contribute to its success. An exhibition area allows these companies to showcase cutting-edge technologies and discuss innovations directly with RTTs. Some partners also present their latest developments during dedicated sessions.

ESTRO Endorsement in 2025

The 2025 conference will take place on Friday 20 June, in Dijon, France. This year, the committee is proud to highlight ESTRO and its initiatives. For the first time, ESTRO has endorsed the event, and several international speakers have been invited. They will speak on ESTRO, the ESTRO School, the annual congress, and recent RTT workshops.

To ensure accessibility, we are working on how we can provide real-time translation for attendees.
