Overview: Course aim: The aim of this one-day pre-meeting course is to share expertise, best practices and to provide a state-of-the-art critical overview of selected developments in the management of non-melanoma skin cancer. The main focus will be on skin brachytherapy, but the event will also provide perspective from other health care professionals involved in the management of skin cancer. Learning objectives: By the end of this course participants should be able to: - Understanding of epidemiology and pathology of skin cancer with special focus on mutational burden and genetic profiling - Have a general knowledge of surgical management and reconstruction techniques in skin cancer - Summarise the role of skin radiotherapy and brachytherapy in skin cancer in view of recently published guidelines and metaanalysis - Develop a deep understanding of best practices in superficial and interstitial skin brachytherapy - Demonstrate increased awareness of geriatric assessment and skin of the colour issues in skin cancer management - Understand the role of RTTs and nurses in skin cancer treatment - Summarise the latest technical developments in skin radiotherapy and brachytherapy - Discuss the potential of artificial intelligence, Big Data and PROMs to enhance personalize medicine and access to radiotherapy Who should attend: This pre-meeting course is aimed at radiation oncologist / clinical oncologists, medical physicists and RTTs, at senior and trainee level, who are involved in the management of non-melanoma skin cancer, particularly in skin brachytherapy. The course may also be of interest to other health care professionals involved in skin cancer treatment and would like an overview of current developments in dermatooncology and skin radiotherapy / brachytherapy.
