Biography

Juliane Hörner-Rieber is Managing Senior Physician and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Department of Radiation Oncology of Heidelberg University Hospital in Germany. Her main clinical and research fields of expertise include image-guided high precision radiotherapy with respect to which she is the PI of several on-going clinical trials. Her research further focuses on stereotactic radiotherapy, the advancing field of personalized radiation oncology as well as novel radiation techniques and concepts, particularly in the treatment of breast and lung cancer patients. At Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center, Juliane Hörner-Rieber is also responsible for the clinical implementation and evaluation of online adaptive radiotherapy at both the MRlinac and the ETHOS system. She earned her medical degree from Heidelberg University and obtained her doctorate at the Department of Pediatric Oncology of the German Cancer Research Center. During her studies, she was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, and her postdoctoral research was supported by the “Rahel-Goitein-Straus-Program” as well as the “Olympia-Morata-Program” of the Heidelberg University Faculty of Medicine.
