Steffen Löck studied physics with focus on theoretical physics. After his PhD thesis in the field of quantum chaos he changed his focus to medical physics in 2012. At OncoRay in Dresden (Germany) he leads the group on Modelling and Biostatistics in Radiation Oncology since 2015, in which modern machine learning algorithms are applied to identify molecular or imaging biomarkers and models concerning patient selection for proton therapy are developed. Since 2017 he is the statistics editor of the journal Radiotherapy and Oncology.
