Sara trained as a cancer nurse in 1986 at the Royal Marsden Hospital (UK) and has worked for 30 years in oncology, specialising in late effects of cancer treatment. She undertook her PhD at Institute of Cancer Research, Academic Radiotherapy on "Supportive care in radiotherapy" and has published over 90 peer reviewed papers. Now an Adjunct Professor in The School of Medicine, Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, she is supporting student and clinical research projects related to the impact of radiotherapy.
