Piet Dirix attained a PhD in medical sciences in 2010 on “Optimization of IMRT for head and neck cancer” and graduated as a radiation oncologist in 2012. He currently works in the Iridium Network, where his focus lies on pelvic genito-urinary (GU) cancers. He is also an associate professor at Antwerp University and his main research interest is on the use of innovative imaging and stereotactic radiotherapy. He became head of the radiotherapy unit at Iridium and vice chair of the Oncology Center Antwerp in 2021.
