Copenhagen (2022) and Glasgow (2023) have been selected to host ESTRO’s Annual Congress.
The selection was done based on two distinct elements: the logistical capacity to host this global event and – more importantly – the co-creation of an engagement project which will have a tangible impact on the patient outcome.
This approach is one of the materializations of ESTRO’s vision: “Optimal Health for All, Together”, whereby the Society continuously seeks to improve the outcome for the patient. The full ESTRO Vision Paper can be found here.
The selected cities each proposed impressive projects, either on regional or national level, which will create lasting impacts and provide inspiration to the global Radiation Oncology community.
“We have been very impressed by both the high ambitions of the projects proposed and the engagement of the local communities. In all cases, the projects proposed were the result of true team work by all the stakeholders involved and we are very much looking forward to starting the engagement projects”, say Umberto Ricardi, President of ESTRO.
